To celebrate the Queen\u2019s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, a tree planting \ninitiative is being planned for the planting season of 2021-2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Queen\u2019s Green Canopy<\/a> will\n create a network of individual trees, avenues, copses and whole \nwoodlands in honour of The Queen\u2019s service and the legacy she has built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will create a green legacy of its own, with every tree planted \nbringing benefits for people, wildlife and climate, now and for the \nfuture. As well as encouraging the planting of new trees, the project \nwill also help to protect Ancient Woodland through identifying 70 \nindividual ancient trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We think it\u2019s a great idea and would urge Community Groups, neighbourhood forums or individual landowners to get involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you would like to be part of this, there is advice and further information on the official website www.queensgreencanopy.org<\/a> or you can contact us.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n There is planned a Queen\u2019s Green Canopy interactive national map \nwhere your trees will be shown and you can also order an official plaque\n to commemorate your plantings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Reimagining the Levels has been contacted by the Somerset Organisers of this project and asked if we could identify ways to support it.
