We have a number of tree planting schemes coming up that would benefit from volunteer labour. If you feel you could help out at one or some of these dates do come along. Please let Paul know in advance if you’re coming via: paulsanderJ@gmail.com

The first is coinciding with National Tree Week and is Saturday 23 November at Framboise Orchard, off Mill Road, Barton St David TA11 6DF (just past Plotgate) from 10.00 to 4.00 both days.  You would be made most welcome and a warming lunch of soup and bread will be provided.  Appropriate clothing for the weather advise and please bring a spade.  Instruction on tree planting will be given.

Volunteer tree planters are also needed for the weekend of the 25th and 26th January 2020 at Plotgate where a second linear woodland and windbreaks around the garden will be planted, approximately 400 trees. Times, training and refreshments as above.

A one acre site on Yarley Hill, Yarley, Wells, BA5 1PA on 7th and 8th February 2020

On the 22nd and 23rd February 2020, there will be tree planting on newly acquired land by the New Ecological Land Co-op in Sparkford, next to the existing Sparkford Copse.  It’s interesting to read about their plans for three small ecological residential farms on a 21-acre field that had previously been used for sheep grazing.  https://ecologicalland.coop/sites/default/files/Sparkford%20Site%20Information.pdf/8th

Others are in the pipeline so do revisit us as we will post when we have dates.
